Prada Transformer

In collaboration with Rem Koolhaas and AMO, the think tank for the Office of Metropolitan Architecture, Prada imagined a shape-shifting venue where quite literally the worlds of fashion, art, cinema and architecture intersect: Prada Transformer. The four-sided structure is flipped by crane onto one of its uniquely shaped platforms transforming the venue into four completely unique identities.

Located in Seoul, Korea, chosen for its vibrant attitude and as a message to the importance of Asian markets, it is now in its third phase. The space will be rotated again opening Auguat 15th  to become a contemporary art gallery displaying “Turn into Me” a selection of work by Nathalie Djurberg.
Tickets for the “Turn into Me” art exhibition are free and can be booked online .

fixie

We resisted the witty puns screened on t-shirts and any sort of room decor but Urban Outfitters’ new bike shop offers candy colored fixies that we must admit are pretty cool. Teamed with Republic Bike, Urban starts with the Aristotle model leaving the color of the seat, frame, grips, rims, tires, pedals and chain up to you. See mine above.

semi automatic

We love the Mondrian Miami’s slick white interior, Alice-in-Wonderland carved columns and outdoor living room, but it was the gift shop that caught our attention. A witty update on the classic vending machine, B12 might bring you a Paul Smith toothbrush, 24 karat gold handcuffs by Kiki de Montparnasse or an anti recession t-shirt (economically priced at $21).

Just in case you were wondering here’s a look at the rest of the hotel………..mondrian

Way cooler than the Cartier you got for graduation (and never used) Athas pens re-interpret the classic bic. We love the rose gold one.

Minter

In one of our favorite artist collabs ever, NY based artists Marilyn Minter, Richard Phillips and Maira Kalman created original works inspired by MAC’s fall color collection. Minter took cues from glitter pigments she describes as “decadent and violent. ” Her image is erotic, tactile, glamorous and subversive all characteristics of the MAC brand itself, a pretty impressive result considering MAC gave each artist carte blanche for their projects. Genius.
